Tampering NEET-UG OMR Sheet

The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing in two weeks regarding allegations of OMR sheet tampering in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The petitioner’s lawyer claimed their client, who topped the exams, had their OMR sheet altered by respondents. Despite this, the court questioned the timing of the petition, as the exam has already concluded.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that the petition represents multiple students, highlighting concerns from those who received coaching. They stressed that every student has the right to access their OMR sheets and noted discrepancies from the set standards. It is claimed from the petitioner that OMR sheet was tampered.

Representing the NTA, lawyer Nispar assured the court that OMR sheets are provided to all candidates. The court then queried whether there’s a specific timeframe for this process.

Previously, the Supreme Court warned the NTA that even a 0.01% error would be rigorously addressed, acknowledging the students’ hard work. The court emphasized the severity of fraudulent practices in becoming a doctor and urged the NTA to take student complaints seriously and act impartially.

The Supreme Court’s upcoming hearing reflects its commitment to fairness in educational assessments and accountability in addressing alleged irregularities.
