Authorities detained a woman from Thane who threatened to kill Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended Fatima Khan (24) in the Ulhasnagar area of Thane district. Police claim she is mentally unstable, despite holding a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
Mumbai Police received a threatening message on Saturday evening. The message warned that if Yogi Adityanath did not resign within 24 hours, he would be killed, similar to former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui. Following the threat, Mumbai Police notified the ATS and Uttar Pradesh Police. The ATS quickly traced Khan and took her into custody.
While police interrogate her, a senior IPS officer confirmed she has not been formally arrested. Officials noted her responses indicate potential mental health issues. A plan is in place to evaluate her psychological condition.
In response to the threat, security for Chief Minister Yogi has been heightened.
