Tejashwi Yadav, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), unveiled the ‘Parivartan Patra’ manifesto ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. During the launch, Yadav affirmed the party’s commitment to fulfilling all 24 promises outlined in the manifesto, emphasizing its focus on vital developmental issues and the welfare of Bihar’s populace.
Addressing the audience at the event, Yadav underscored the significance of the manifesto, declaring that each promise represents the party’s steadfast dedication to responsibly delivering on its commitments. Furthermore, he highlighted the manifesto’s core objectives, centered around the development of Bihar and the well-being of its residents.
Yadav also seized the opportunity to outline additional pledges, including the assurance of providing government jobs to one crore youth nationwide if the INDIA bloc, led by the RJD, assumes power. He criticized the current unemployment crisis, vowing to address it by fulfilling the promise of employment opportunities.
Furthermore, Yadav promised to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and grant special status to Bihar if his party secures victory in the elections. He announced plans to commence job offerings across the country on August 15, symbolizing freedom from unemployment, and pledged financial aid of Rs 1 lakh to impoverished women every Rakshabandhan.
The manifesto also pledges to provide gas cylinders at the affordable rate of Rs 500, establish five new airports in Bihar for enhanced connectivity, and offer 200 units of electricity free of charge. Additionally, the RJD vows to prioritize the implementation of remaining Mandal Commission recommendations and discontinue the Agniveer scheme.
Yadav’s statements come amidst heightened political discourse, with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar drawing closer. The state is set to witness polling across all seven phases, with the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan gearing up for a competitive electoral battle.
In the previous Lok Sabha elections, the NDA emerged victorious, securing 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar. However, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan is poised for a strong opposition, aiming to challenge the incumbent coalition’s dominance.
