Tej Pratap Yadav Accepts Defeat; Calls It A ‘Moral Victory’ As He Attacks ‘Traitors’ And Criticises Tejashwi

With the Bihar Assembly election results now clear, the NDA has surged past the 200-seat milestone, while the Mahagathbandhan has failed to reach even 40 seats.

Amid the shifting political landscape, remarks by Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son and a candidate from Mahua, have sparked renewed discussion. While Tejashwi Yadav has yet to issue a formal reaction, Tej Pratap’s strongly worded statement has drawn significant attention.

In a Facebook post shared by the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, Tej Pratap declared that he had “won even in defeat”, taking aim at ‘traitors’ within his former party, RJD and praising the NDA’s leadership.

Tej Pratap asserted that the election results symbolised a wider public verdict.

“Even in our loss lies the victory of the people. I accept this outcome as the true mandate,” he wrote. He added that Bihar had now sent a decisive message that politics in the state would no longer revolve around dynastic interests but would be centred on good governance and education.

Calling it a ‘resounding defeat of the traitors’, he claimed he had already predicted the Congress’s poor performance. “I have won despite losing because the love, trust, and blessings of the people are with me,” he said.

Criticism of Tejashwi: “Tejashwi Has Become ‘Failsawi’”

Tej Pratap sharpened his attack on his younger brother, alleging that internal sabotage had weakened the RJD from within.

“These traitors hollowed out the RJD. That is why Tejashwi has become ‘Failsawi’ today,” he wrote. He accused Tejashwi of prioritising his own position over the party’s stability, claiming history would not forgive him.

He reaffirmed his commitment to his constituency, noting that whether or not he held office, his doors would always remain open for the people of Mahua.

Tej Pratap credited the NDA’s sweeping victory to what he described as strong, united leadership.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘dynamic leadership’, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s governance, and Home Minister Amit Shah’s strategic approach. He also acknowledged the BJP’s Dharmendra Pradhan for his “tireless efforts”.

Emphasising the unity within the alliance, Tej Pratap said the NDA’s five constituent parties fought like the ‘five Pandavas’, whose unity turned public support into electoral strength.

“This victory belongs to the people of Bihar, an affirmation of trust, development, and good governance,” he wrote.

He expressed gratitude to Bihar’s youth, women, and voters, promising to return stronger as “the voice of the people”.
