Two fire incidents occurred on Monday at the Shri Kapi Manas Mandal and Consumer Protection Committee camps during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025. However, thanks to the quick and efficient response of the Fire Service Unit, both fires were brought under control swiftly, preventing any significant damage or loss of life.
The first fire incident took place at the Shri Kapi Manas Mandal camp, where flames broke out in two tents early in the morning. The Fire Service Unit promptly responded to the emergency, arriving at the scene and quickly containing the fire. The situation was managed without any casualties, thanks to the immediate action taken by the fire officers.
While the fire was being extinguished at the Shri Kapi Manas Mandal camp, the Fire Service team noticed smoke rising from Sector 8. Upon investigation, they discovered that the Consumer Protection Committee camp had also caught fire. Without delay, the team utilized water from pumping vehicles to fully extinguish the flames, preventing further damage.

In both incidents, FS Bhardwaj, the in-charge of Fire Station Koteshwar Mahadev, led the firefighting operations. His team’s swift and effective response was instrumental in averting any casualties and bringing both fires under control in time. The situation is now fully under control, and there have been no reports of injuries or loss of life.
The quick response was made possible due to the comprehensive fire safety and security arrangements implemented for Maha Kumbh 2025. These measures ensured that emergency services were well-prepared to handle such incidents, further reinforcing the safety of the thousands gathered for the event.
Thanks to the prompt action and coordinated efforts of the Fire Service Unit, the fires were swiftly contained, and the Maha Kumbh event continues without major disruption.
