Supreme Court Postpones Hearing On Former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu’s Corruption Case Plea, Reschedules Date

Chandrababu Naidu’s plea will now be heard in the Supreme Court on October 20th. Naidu is seeking the cancellation of the FIR filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) case and challenging the decision of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The hearing on the FIR filed against him in the Supreme Court was initially scheduled for October 18th but has been postponed.

It’s important to note that the current government in the state alleges that Naidu’s actions resulted in a loss of 371 crore rupees to the state treasury. This case is linked to the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation. Naidu is currently in judicial custody and incarcerated in the Central Jail in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh.

Previously, the Supreme Court had denied Naidu interim bail on Tuesday, and his plea was set for a hearing on Wednesday, October 18th, which has now been postponed. Before that, the Andhra High Court had adjourned Chandrababu Naidu’s bail petition until Thursday. It is reported that Naidu’s plea was heard by Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M. Trivedi, where he requested the cancellation of the FIR against him in the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation scam case.

In the Supreme Court, senior advocate Harish Salve represented Naidu, while the representation for the Andhra Pradesh state government was done by former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi. After hearing the arguments put forth by these senior lawyers, the Supreme Court has reserved its judgment in the case of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), N. Chandrababu Naidu.
