Supreme Court grants bail, “Can’t tell what happened to me in those 4 days..” says Khushi Dubey

Khushi Dubey Case: After several pleas, Khushi Dubey, widow of Amar Dubey an assistant and relative of gangster Vikas Dubey has granted bail by the Supreme court, on Sunday.

While approving her bail, Chief Justice of India Chandrachud considered that Khushi Dubey was 16-17 years old at the time of the incident. The supreme court has imposed conditions on her in exchange for her bail that she has to appear before the SHO (Station House Officer) of the police station and should cooperate in the trial.

Khushi Dubey Case: Beforehand, when she put the petition for her bail, denied by the Allahbad court, Khushi challenged the decision. At the same time, Senior Advocate Vivek Tanka showed in defense of Khushi, stating that she was a minor at the time of the offense. Regular bail is granted to her as the charge sheet has also been filed in the case.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government opposed the bail plea of Khushi Dubey. As per the reports, the accused got married 3 days prior to the Bikru incident.  On the day of the incident, several policemen were shot by Vikash  Dubey. He tried to escape from custody and got shot by the UP police.

Moreover, the police said that Khushi Dubey took an active part in the incident at Kanpur’s Bikru village on July 3, 2020.

Speaking to the media Khushi said, “I was picked up by the police on July 4 and sent to jail on July 8. I cannot even describe what I suffered in those four days.”

A police team went to arrest gangster Vikas Dubey on July 3, 2020. The gangster and his men opened fire on the team and killed eight police officers.

In the following week, Vikas and five of his aides, including Amar Dubey, were killed in back-to-back encounters.
