Amethi Railway Station
Union Minister for Women’s and Child Development Smriti Irani has urged her colleague and the Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw to change the names of the railway stations that falls under her parliamentary constituency Amethi. She, in her letter, has however, proposed the names she would like to have.

Seven railway stations fall in her constituency and she want every of those stations to have a new name. The names of the existing railway stations and what she proposed in her letter are as under.
The name of Kasimpur Halt railway station should be changed to Jais City, similarly her choice of name for Jais railway station is Guru Gorakhnath Dham. She would like to have the Bani railway station to be named as Swami Paramahamsa. Her choice of name for Misrauli railway station is Maa Kalikan Dham. That’s not all, she also wants Nihalgarh railway station to be named as Maharaja Bijli Pasi or Virangana Uda Devi. Her preference for Akbarganj railway station is Maa Ahorva Bhavani Dham. Lastly she wants Warisganj railway station be named as Amar Shaheed Bhalesultan.

It should be noted that name for Mughalsarai railway station has already changed to Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya. Changes of names of places or railway stations are definitely welcome but what is necessary most is the development.
