Senior Congress Leader P. Narsa Reddy Passes Away in Hyderabad, CM Revanth Reddy Condoles His Death

Former Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief P. Narsa Reddy, aged 92, passed away in Hyderabad on Monday.

Hailing from Nirmal in the erstwhile Adilabad district, P. Narsa Reddy earned a Law degree from Osmania University. He made his mark in politics, first securing a seat in the State Assembly in 1962, and subsequently winning in 1967 and 1972 from the Nirmal constituency. Serving as the Irrigation Minister in Jalagam Vengal Rao’s Cabinet during 1977-78, he also handled the Revenue and Legislative Affairs portfolios. Later, he was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) in 1981. Additionally, Narsa Reddy represented the Adilabad Lok Sabha seat from 1989 to 1991 and contributed to various Parliamentary consultative committees.

A statement from the Congress party announced that the mortal remains of P. Narsa Reddy would be brought to Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters in Hyderabad, to allow party members and others to pay their final respects. The last rites will take place at Mahaprasthanam at 3 p.m. on Monday.

Condolences poured in from various political leaders, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy acknowledging Narsa Reddy’s extensive service as an MP, MLA, and MLC. The Chief Minister praised his contributions as the PCC Chief and Minister in the former Andhra Pradesh, stating that his wisdom and experience were invaluable to the Congress party, and his demise is a significant loss.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud described Narsa Reddy as a people’s man with unwavering integrity in public life. Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Ponnam Prabhakar also expressed their condolences, recognizing the late leader’s dedicated service to the party and the people.
