The Supreme Court refused to hear the petition challenging the Delhi High Court’s decision to postpone the hearing on the default bail of former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain. Jain is lodged in Tihar Jail in money laundering case.
The apex court observed that the High Court should dispose of Satyendar Jain’s bail petition on the next hearing. The High Court had issued a notice on May 28 adjourning the hearing to July 9.
Satyendar Jain was arrested by the ED in May 2022 in the money laundering case. The court had first granted him interim bail for about 6 months on May 26, 2023 on medical grounds. Since He was arrested in May 2022 in connection with a money laundering case.

Later, jai received an extention of few more months. However, the court ordered Satyendar Jain to surrender immediately.
The CBI had registered an FIR against the AAP leader in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Satyendar Jain is accused of money laundering.
As per the FIR, four companies, linked with jai directly, committed the henious crime of money laundering.
According to the ED, Satyendar Jain used cell businesses and hawala to launder millions of rupees. Jain is charged with stealing money via four businesses that are connected to him. He was therefore placed under arrest on May 30, 2022.
