Sanskriti Bharati Hosts Theatre Review On Spirituality And Creativity

Sanskriti Bharati’s ‘Kala Sankul’ hosted a theatre review and discussion on creativity and thought on Sunday. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.

Organisers and guests included Ashok Tiwari, coordinator of Kala Sankul, chief guest Rajesh Jain ‘Chetan’, playwright and director JP Singh, and senior theatre artist Avtar Sahni.

The session focused on Rangbhoomi Delhi’s play Yugpurush, inspired by the lives of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda. The narrative explored the period when Narendra, later Vivekananda, was on a journey of self-realisation and spiritual awakening.

Before the discussion, the audience watched key scenes from the play.

Director JP Singh, actor Vipin Kumar, who played Ramakrishna, and Sudhir Rikhari, who portrayed Vivekananda, joined the stage with the chief guest. Rajesh Jain recited an original poem, capturing the spiritual depth of the play for the audience.

During the discussion, actors shared insights into how they approached these significant roles. They spoke about the mental and emotional preparation required to internalise such profound characters and the personal transformations they experienced while performing.

Following the review, Sudhir Rikhari performed a devotional bhajan, filling the hall with a serene and spiritual atmosphere. His performance highlighted the thematic essence of the play and left the audience with a sense of calm and devotion.

Other performers included Arun Sondhe, Tripti Johri, Shuddho Banerjee, Gaurav Verma, Mukesh, and Hari Singh Kholiya. All artists received shawls and plants from the Kala Sankul family as a token of appreciation.

The event’s success was credited to the dedicated efforts of the team, especially coordinator Bharti Dang, who managed the stage with elegance.

Volunteers Shruti Sinha, Garima Rani, Sneha Mukherjee, Shyam Kumar, Raj Upadhyay, Shraboni Saha, and Harshit Goyal contributed actively, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.

The gathering demonstrated that Sanskriti Bharati is more than a platform for art. It embodies a celebration of Indian culture, creativity, and shared values. The event reaffirmed its role in promoting art that touches both mind and spirit.
