She wore the look to honour the moment when Gautama Buddha achieved enlightenment under the sacred Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya.
This tribute anchors the costume deeply in India’s spiritual heritage.
Manika’s floor-length sculptural gown immediately captured attention with its rich, intricate embroidery.
The panels symbolised prosperity, divinity, and power, core themes that reflect Buddha’s journey to enlightenment.
Designers crafted the gown to blend elegance with storytelling, making each element meaningful and visually striking.
She elevated the ensemble with an extravagant headpiece inspired by ancient temple architecture.
The ornate structure brought a royal presence to her appearance and reinforced the cultural depth behind the costume.
A dramatic saffron train flowed behind her, representing the robes traditionally worn by Buddhist monks.
Its fine gold detailing echoed the patterns of the Bodhi tree’s leaves, tying the look back to the moment that inspired the entire creation.
At the heart of the costume, designers placed a radiant Dharma Chakra, the Wheel of Truth.
This symbolic element represents the Eightfold Path and the global spread of Buddhist teachings from India.
Its central position reminded viewers of Buddha’s message and India’s role in sharing it with the world.
Manika shared on Instagram that the outfit draws heavily from ancient Buddhist architecture, including the golden stupas and soaring spires of Sanchi and Bodh Gaya.
She completed the look with a lotus-shaped crown hovering above the headdress, symbolising purity and spiritual awakening.
The 74th Miss Universe pageant will take place in Thailand on November 21, 2025, at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi.
