Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, transferring Rs 18,000 crore to 9 crore farmers from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
With this instalment, over 11 crore farming families have received more than Rs 3.70 lakh crore under the scheme so far.
As Rs 2,000 reached beneficiary accounts nationwide, farmers described the assistance as crucial support during tough financial times.
They said the funds help them buy fertilisers, seeds, and other essentials on time.
They emphasised that timely aid strengthens their ability to manage agricultural needs.
In Jharkhand’s Sahibganj district, farmers welcomed the credit with joy. They said the scheme helped them overcome capital shortages that once hindered their farming activities.
They added that timely financial support now allows them to prepare their fields without delays.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur, the district BJP president emphasised the scheme’s broader impact.
He said the inflow of funds boosts not only farmers but also local markets by improving cash flow as farmers buy essential items.
Farmers in Bihar’s Koderma said the scheme freed them from relying on loans to meet basic farming needs.
Women farmers also expressed gratitude for the financial relief and said the assistance eased their household and agricultural responsibilities.
In Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror region, farmers thanked the Prime Minister for recognising their hardships.
Mahavir, a beneficiary, said the funds helped families recover from financial distress.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Choudhary said PM-KISAN empowered farmers and encouraged cultivation, especially among small and marginal farmers.
Beneficiaries added that they use the money to buy fertilisers, seeds, pesticides, and essential tools.
In Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district, farmers welcomed the instalment as a significant support system.
Tikam Singh from Bharbhadia village said he has been receiving PM-KISAN assistance from the beginning and uses it to buy seeds and fertilisers.
Another farmer, Dashrath Rathore, said he benefits from both the central instalment and an additional Rs 2,000 from the state government.
He thanked PM Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for strengthening farm-level support.
The PM-KISAN scheme stands as one of the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer programmes. It continues to draw global recognition for empowering India’s farming community.
