Dr. Anurag Batra Unveils New Rules For This Year’s ‘Samachar4Media 40 Under 40’ Event

Dr. Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of exchange4media, announced several new rules for this year’s event.

He stated that past winners would not be eligible for re-registration to allow more new participants to join.

Additionally, the entry fee has been abolished to ensure that smaller and medium-sized organizations can also participate.

The effect of this change was evident, with 17 institutions represented this year compared to 10 last year.

A new rule for the next year will limit institutions to submitting a maximum of 15 entries, to promote broader industry participation and highlight more emerging talent.

Dr. Batra also emphasized the importance of unity on issues related to national security and sovereignty, stating, “While diverse editorial perspectives are essential, we must present a united front on matters of national interest. Our focus should be on the country’s welfare.”

The ‘Samachar4Media Journalism 40 Under 40’ list for this year includes 40 young journalists who have made significant contributions in print, television, and digital media.

The jury selected the final 40 from nearly 96 shortlisted candidates during a virtual meeting on 27 July 2024.

The jury, chaired by Shashi Shekhar, Editor-in-Chief of Hindustan, included prominent members such as Dr. Anurag Batra, Anuradha Prasad, Sudhir Chaudhary, Rajneesh Ahuja, Sumit Awasthi, Sant Prasad Rai, Prof. (Dr.) K G Suresh, Rahul Mahajan, Washindra Mishra, Vinod Agnihotri, Jaideep Karnik, Shamshher Singh, and Dr. Syed Mubeen Zahra.

This year’s event successfully continued its mission of recognizing and honoring young journalists who have made a mark in the media industry.
