Rouse Avenue Court Issues Notice To CBI In Old Rajendra Coaching Center Case

Rouse Avenue Court issued a notice to the CBI regarding the bail plea of the co-owners arrested in the Old Rajendra Coaching Center accident. This incident resulted in the death of three students. The court will hear the bail plea on 9th August.

The Delhi High Court had transferred the case to the CBI, which now investigates under the supervision of the CVC. However, sources say the CBI has not yet registered an FIR.

Previously, Tis Hazari Court allowed the withdrawal of the bail plea for the four accused: Tejinder Singh, Parvinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sarabjit Singh. All four have now filed for bail in Rouse Avenue Court. The Magistrate Court of Tis Hazari Court had earlier refused to grant them bail.

During the Tis Hazari Court hearing, lawyer Amit Chaddha argued that running a library in a coaching center differs from a court library. He stated that Sections 102 and 106 of the Indian Code of Justice are contradictory and cannot apply simultaneously to the coaching owners.

Special Public Prosecutor Atul Srivastava, representing Delhi Police, opposed the bail plea. He argued that Kathuria contributed to the negligence and showed the court videos from Kathuria’s social media, where he drives the same SUV.
