The Delhi High Court has rejected the petition seeking disqualification of PM Modi and others from contesting elections. Along with this, the division bench of Delhi High Court has reprimanded the petitioner. The court noted that the petitioner needed medical help. The court also said that the local authorities needed to keep an eye on him.
Reprimanding the petitioner, court asked if he was okay?. Court observed, “You are going from one end of the spectrum to the other.” The Bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan of Delhi High Court observed the verdict. Bench said that the local administration should keep an eye on the petitioner.
Petitioner seeked disqualification of PM Modi for 6 years
The court has also said in its decision that the allegations made by the petitioner are absurd and he is either suffering from hallucinations or some other mental problem and needs medical help. Captain Deepak Kumar had challenged the order of the single bench before the division bench.

In the appeal, there was a demand to disqualify the PM as well as Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. The petition alleged that these three had taken a false oath. The petition also accused PM Modi of trying to destabilize national security.
Notably, earlier also a petition was filed in Delhi High Court demanding a ban on PM from contesting any kind of election for 6 years, which was rejected by the court. It was claimed in the petition that on April 9, in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi resorted to religion to get votes. The petition demanded action against PM Modi for violating the model code of conduct by asking for votes in the name of God and places of worship.
The petitioner had said that during his speech, the PM appealed to the voters to vote for BJP in the name of Hindu deities and Hindu places of worship.
