Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has stated that there will be recruitment for 1 lakh government positions in the state within one year, out of which approximately 60,000 appointments have already been made. The people of the state are my family, and I strive to run the government as a family. The poor and the laborers are like gods to us. Your selection in the government service is for serving them. It is our duty to provide social security to the poor and laborers and to provide them with a healthy and safe working environment. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the appointment letter distribution program of the Excise, Labor, and Cooperation departments. He inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp at the residence office. He distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed government officials and extended his best wishes to them.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that on 15th August last year, I had announced recruitment for one lakh positions in a year. This recruitment campaign is still ongoing. So far, appointments for 60,000 positions have been made, including today’s appointments. Our commitment is to conduct recruitments in the government service based on transparency, honesty, and merit. Your selection is based on merit, and hence, all of you are worthy of congratulations. After taking charge in the government service, the implementation of departmental plans and programs will be done through you. Your successful execution of this responsibility is my blessing and best wishes. “I expect you to fulfill your duties with the understanding that we are not here only for ourselves but for the people of the state and the development of the state and the country. The meaning of government service is to serve the people and contribute to the development of the state and the nation. The sense of duty and responsibility should always remain in your hearts. The progress and development of the state depend on you. The successful implementation of welfare schemes and programs also depends on you.”
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Cooperation department is an important department related to social affairs. The department is contributing to the development of people and the state by providing financial services to the rural and remote areas. The Labor department is important from the perspective of providing laborers with a healthy and safe working environment, especially in the unorganized sector. It is necessary to remain vigilant in this regard to prevent the exploitation of laborers. The Excise department has a dual responsibility. It should ensure that there is no sale of illicit liquor and take all possible efforts to safeguard the state’s revenue. The officers and employees of this department should resolve that illegal activities will not be allowed to operate, and they will make every effort to ensure the safety of the state’s revenue. The decision to close illicit liquor shops has been successfully implemented under the new excise policy. It will also be necessary to bring about a change in people’s mindset about addiction and create awareness.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state is progressing on the path of development. Per capita income, which was Rs. 11,000 in 2002-03, has now increased to Rs. 1 lakh 40 thousand. The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is 15 lakh crore, and the state’s budget is 3 lakh 15 thousand crore. There has been significant improvement in all infrastructure areas, including roads, water, and electricity. The departments with social responsibilities are also implementing activities with sensitivity.
In the program, a total of 741 candidates were provided appointment letters. In the Excise department, appointment letters were given to 340 Excise Guards; in the Cooperation department, 347 clerks and computer operators; and in the Labor department, 54 candidates were appointed to the positions of Insurance Medical Officer, Pharmacist, Assistant Grade 3, and Sanitary Worker.
