Ravi Chopra and his family warmly welcomed Geeta scholar Swami Gyananand Ji during the Geeta Mahotsav in Manchester.
The event followed the successful International Yoga Day and Geeta Mahotsav celebrations in Manchester.
After these inspiring events, Swami Gyananand Ji began a five-day Geeta Satsang tour in the United States.
At Ravi Chopra’s residence in New York, many representatives from social and religious organisations gathered to honour the Swami.
Devotees and community leaders came together to celebrate and discuss the teachings of the Bhagavad Geeta.
Swami Gyananand Ji emphasised that the Geeta’s message is universal and not limited to India or Indians alone.
He explained that the Geeta remains highly relevant worldwide due to current global challenges.
Swami Gyananand said the world faces problems similar to those Arjun faced in the Mahabharata war.
Stress, tension, and conflict affect people everywhere, just as they troubled Arjun.
He stated the Bhagavad Geeta provides the right solution to these issues.
Swami Gyananand called the Geeta the best gift for today’s world.
PM Modi’s recognition
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently highlighted the spiritual and philosophical value of the Bhagavad Geeta, gifting it to numerous world leaders as a symbol of India’s timeless wisdom.
He has often described the Geeta as India’s greatest contribution to the global community.
Echoing this sentiment, Swami Gyananand expressed his aspiration to spread the Geeta’s teachings across the world.
Supporting this mission, the Kurukshetra Development Board has successfully organised international Geeta festivals in several countries, including Mauritius, England, Canada, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
In a recent planning meeting, representatives from New York shared their enthusiasm about hosting the next Geeta Mahotsav in the United States.
They proposed New York as the central venue, with New Jersey serving as a supporting location.
The group unanimously appointed Ravi Chopra as the coordinator for the New York team.
They pledged to bring together diverse religious and social organisations to ensure the success of the upcoming Geeta Harmony Festival.
Community leaders from various Indian diaspora groups also extended their full support to the initiative.
The meeting, held at Ravi Chopra’s residence, concluded on a high note with the participation of several honoured guests and dignitaries.
