Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit to conduct the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya;s Ram Temple
Ram Mandir Consecration: On January 22, 2024, Ramlala’s life will be consecrated at the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. This is something for which preparations are ongoing. On this occasion, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present to witness the historical event. Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath, an 86-year-old, would dedicate Ramlala’s life. Let us tell you that Pandit Dixit’s ancestors had crowned Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj after the Brahmins of Maharashtra had declined to do so.
Bond between Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
There is a strong bond between Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It was Pandit Gaga Bhatt who crowned Shivaji Maharaj. Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit is descended from the same Ganga Bhatt of the 17th century, also known as Gaga Bhatt. In accordance with Vedic rites, they will now dedicate Ramlala in the Ram temple.
The 86-year-old Vedic scholar Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit can trace his ancestry to the illustrious Kashi scholar Gaga Bhatt, who presided over Chatrapati Shivaji in the 17th century, and will lead the assembly of priests at the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

Ancient customs and vedic rites to be followed at Ram Mandir Consecration
The family of Ganga Bhatt is well-versed in ancient customs and Vedic rites. There is evidence of this in his lineage. Mathuranath Dixit claims that his family resides in Solapur, Maharashtra. Subsequently, the family relocated to Kashi, which is now Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
Sunil Laxmikant Dixit, the son of Pandit Laxmikant, claims that his family comes from the Jeur village in Solapur, Maharashtra. He committed his life to following Hindu customs and ceremonies in Kashi, where his ancestors had made their home. Sunil claims that his father is skilled in performing several rituals, including Shrota, Smarta, Yagya, and Abhishek.
121 scholars to perform the ceremonies
According to Sunil Laxmikant Dixit, his uncle Ganesh Dixit Javji Bhatt imparted the knowledge of Vedas and rituals to his father, Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit. In addition to teaching at Sangveda Vidyalaya, his father was a student of Shukla Yajurveda. He is currently 86 years old.
To consecrate Ramlala’s life, Pandit Laxmikant and 121 other scholars will perform ceremonies. Over forty of these scholars are from Kashi. Pandit Laxmikant has simultaneously expressed his satisfaction at being able to dedicate Ramlala. He declared that he has this duty and will fulfill it because of the blessings of Kashi’s great saints and sages.
