A state-level team for COVID infection prevention and control has been established by the Rajasthan health department in response to an increase in cases nationwide.
According to an official statement released here on Friday, Shubhra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, issued an order to form a state-level team for COVID management.
The formation of the team, according to Singh, was prompted by the increase in COVID infections in other states, such as Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.
According to the statement, Medical Education Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate has been designated as the “State Covid Management Committee’s” nodal officer.
It further stated that this committee will conduct the essential state-wide operations for the prevention and management of COVID-19 infection. A statement released on Wednesday states that there have been four Covid cases of the JN.1 sub-variant reported in the state thus far. According to official sources on Friday, there were 22 cases of COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 found in the nation up until Thursday. Of those, 21 cases were reported from Goa and one from Kerala.
