Punjab Looking To BJP With Hope, Says PM Modi Ahead Of Jalandhar Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said Punjab is looking towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with hope ahead of his July 17 rally in Jalandhar, asserting that the party’s development agenda would bring prosperity and improve the ease of living for the people of the state.

During his visit, PM Modi will launch development projects worth around Rs 25,000 crore, including Rs 14,700 crore worth of works in Haryana’s Jind, over Rs 5,400 crore in Jalandhar and more than Rs 4,700 crore in Chandigarh. The projects span railways, healthcare, connectivity, education and culture.

Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate 75 redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme to the nation. Other railway initiatives include improved connectivity to Sri Anandpur Sahib and Maa Chintpurni Temple, along with a new train service between Amritsar and Varanasi.

At Jind, the Prime Minister will flag off India’s first hydrogen train between Jind and Sonipat, laying emphasis on clean technology in the railway sector. He will also dedicate medical colleges in Bhiwani and Narnaul, besides road and railway projects aimed at improving regional connectivity.

PM Modi also announced that the foundation stone for a Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra will be laid to showcase the history of Sikhism, the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and the contribution of the Sikh community.

Ahead of the visit, the BJP conducted a two-day cleanliness campaign across Punjab.

Party leaders highlighted initiatives undertaken by the Modi government for the Sikh community, including the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, Veer Bal Diwas, redevelopment of Jallianwala Bagh, support for Afghan Sikhs and tax relief for the Golden Temple’s langar.
