The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday questioned television host Shefali Bagga at its Raipur Zonal Office in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Mahadev Online Betting App case.
The questioning forms part of the agency’s wider probe into the alleged illegal betting network and its financial operations.
According to the investigation, officials are examining Shefali Bagga’s alleged association with Khanjan Jagdish Kumar Thakkar, whom investigators identify as a key promoter of betting applications in India.
The ED has also alleged that Thakkar played a significant role in handling hawala transactions linked to the Mahadev Online Book network.
Investigators are examining allegations that Bagga became the public face of betting platforms allegedly operated from overseas locations, including Dubai and London.
The agency claimed it recovered promotional material and digital evidence during the investigation.
According to the ED, the material allegedly shows Bagga promoting betting applications and providing betting-related tips to users.
The investigation further alleges that Shefali Bagga operated a Telegram channel where promotional content and betting-related tips were shared.
Officials are examining the channel and its digital records as part of the ongoing probe.
The ED continues to analyse financial transactions, electronic evidence and digital communication connected to the alleged betting syndicate.
The agency is investigating the suspected flow of funds and the roles of individuals linked to the operation.
The allegations are part of an ongoing investigation.
The matter remains under inquiry, and the claims have not been adjudicated in court. No judicial finding has yet established the alleged offences.
