Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Uzbekistan conferred its prestigious ‘Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik’ Order on him, calling the recognition a proud moment for every Indian.
In a post on X, Shah said the honour reflected the new frontiers the ‘Modi doctrine’ of diplomacy was opening. He said India’s engagement with other countries was strengthening the voice of the Global South while advancing the civilisational goal of working for the welfare of humankind.
Taking to X, Shah posted, “Congratulations to PM Shri @narendramodi Ji on being conferred with the prestigious ‘Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik’ Order award of Uzbekistan.”
The Minister described the recognition as ‘a grand moment of pride for every Indian’ and said stronger bonds between nations were helping advance India’s broader global objectives.

The congratulatory message came during PM Modi’s two-day State Visit to Uzbekistan, where he held talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation.
The Uzbek President later conferred the country’s highest civilian honour on PM Modi in recognition of his contribution to taking India-Uzbekistan relations forward and strengthening friendship between the two nations.
The award marks another international recognition for PM Modi as India and Uzbekistan have upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
While accepting the ‘Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik’ Order, PM Modi dedicated the honour to the people of India. He said the recognition represented the longstanding friendship, shared heritage and cultural links between India and Uzbekistan.
PM Modi further said India would continue working with Uzbekistan as a responsible partner of the Global South and contribute to efforts focused on peace, stability and the welfare of humanity.
