LG Vinay Kumar Saxena - taking strict measures
Maintaining the principle of no tolerance against corruption the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena has given his nod for the prosecution of 10 Delhi Police officials who are accused in embezzlement of government fund to an extent of Rs 2.44 crore.

Two sub inspectors, three head constables and five constables of the Delhi Police who are placed in the outer district were booked by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the city police for cheating, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust on October 1, 2019.
Those against whom FIRs have been filed includes Meena Kumari, Harender, Vijender Singh, Viju P K, Anand Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anil Kumar, Ravinder, Sanjay Dahiya and Rohit. They have stolen the government money meant for salary, arrear and tuition fee, among others, for their personal use.

While granting sanction for prosecution of these officials under Section 197 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, the LG noted that on careful scrutiny of the evidence available on record, a prima facie case is made out against them.
While seeking sanction for prosecution of these police officials, the home department said that in the disclosure statements, Krishan Kumar, Vijender Singh, Anil Kumar and Meena Kumari, admitted to have utilization of government funds, and destroying statements of witnesses.
