President Droupadi Murmu assured the public on Thursday that the government will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure stringent action against those responsible for the alleged leak of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET-UG papers, amid growing uproar across the nation.

Speaking at a joint session of Parliament, President Murmu emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting previous incidents of paper leaks in various states.

Meanwhile, she called for unity across party lines to implement effective measures nationwide.

“The recent events surrounding the NEET-UG paper leak have raised serious concerns. It is imperative that we transcend political divisions and implement concrete measures,”stated President Murmu.

Highlighting legislative efforts, she underscored Parliament’s recent enactment of stringent laws aimed at combating unfair practices in examinations.

The President articulated the government’s proactive stance on reforming examination bodies and enhancing transparency throughout the examination process.

“My government is actively pursuing comprehensive reforms to bolster the integrity and efficiency of examination systems across the board,” President Murmu affirmed.

Emphasizing the importance of meritocracy and equal opportunities for the youth, she further reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a level playing field in competitive examinations and public sector recruitments.

“The youth of our nation deserve fair opportunities to showcase their talents. Whether in competitive exams or government hiring, transparency and integrity are non-negotiable,” President Murmu asserted.

The President’s remarks come amidst widespread public outcry and demands for accountability following the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, underscoring the government’s resolve to uphold fairness and justice in educational assessments.
