In a decisive move aimed at curbing illegal constructions linked to criminal elements, the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) recently demolished a property associated with Zainab Fatima, wife of Ashraf, brother of gangster Atiq Ahmed.
The demolished building, originally registered under the name Zeeshan Fatima, was located on Waqf land in Prayagraj.
Zonal Officer N. Hashmi of the PDA confirmed that they took action due to the lack of proper ownership documentation.
“They failed to prove their ownership, which led to the demolition order,” stated Officer Hashmi.
Law enforcement agencies are actively dismantling properties linked to Atiq Ahmed’s gang members statewide.
Recently, police in Bareilly identified and listed illegal properties belonging to Ashraf’s brothers-in-law, Saddam and Zaid Master, both known criminals with previous records at Puramufti police station.
The deaths of Ashraf and Atiq Ahmed last year have intensified the crackdown, It prompted heightened scrutiny of their gang’s remaining assets and properties.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Zainab Fatima’s house in Akbarpur, Sallapur, was identified as a hideout after her implication in the Umesh Pal murder case.
Following the demolition of their ancestral house in Chakiya in 2020, Zainab had sought refuge at various locations, including her maternal home in Hatwa village and her brother Zaid Master’s now-demolished property in Hatwa.
Zainab has also faced accusations of usurping and selling Waqf properties valued at approximately Rs. 50 crore, allegedly with the support of Mutawalli Asiyam and his wife Jinnat to secure accommodations in Akbarpur.
Zaid Master, a lecturer at an inter college in Kaushambi and known to be close to Mutawalli, reportedly facilitated the illegal occupation and subsequent sale of Waqf land.
Authorities continue their vigorous pursuit of properties associated with the Atiq Ahmed gang, with over Rs. 1800 crore worth of assets seized and 13 houses demolished in the ongoing crackdown.
