Prayagraj Airport Expantion Before Kumbh Mela 2024

In view of Maha Kumbh, the plan for expansion of Prayagraj Airport was made last year itself.

In view of Maha Kumbh the work of expansion of Prayagraj Airport has started. The Bangalore company which had got the contract for the expansion of the airport here has started work here. Here a new building will be built on the vacant land next to the main terminal. The airport administration says that this work should be completed in 15 months.

In view of Maha Kumbh, the plan for expansion of Prayagraj Airport was made last year itself. After completion of the construction related paperwork, now a firm named Vishal Infrastructures Limited has started the expansion work here. It is being told that work has also been done in Pune, Madurai and Cochin airports by the concerned firm. Another new building will be constructed by the concerned firm next to the main terminal building of Prayagraj Airport.

Whereas the new terminal building next to it will be built in 9500 square meters. The new terminal building has a seating capacity of only 550 passengers. Similarly, another taxi way for the aircraft will also be constructed from the runway to the terminal. Three aerobridges will also be installed in the new terminal building. Apart from this, at present 200 cars can be parked in the airport parking, whereas after expansion, 450 cars, four buses and 50 taxis based on the app can be easily parked here.

The total cost of this entire work will be Rs 173 crore. This work will be completed in 15 months by December 2024. During this time, with the commencement of the expansion work of Prayagraj Airport, redevelopment of the existing terminal will also take place. The advantage of this will be that the passenger capacity of the current terminal will increase in the coming days. Currently the capacity here is only 350 passengers, which is now going to be 650.
