PRAYAGRAJ: Prayagraj Airport ranks third in terms of flight operations in the state. In view of this, the security of air travel is being enhanced with high-tech measures. It is noteworthy that after Lucknow and Varanasi, the maximum number of domestic flights operate at Prayagraj Airport.
The airport has now been equipped with artificial intelligence for safer travel. To ensure comprehensive coverage, the number of CCTV cameras has exceeded 100. Continuous monitoring is conducted 24 hours a day from the control room. Following this, dual-view X-ray baggage scanning machines have been installed at the airport. Luggage checks at Prayagraj airport have been elevated to a three-level process.
Regardless of the type of luggage, it will be scrutinized by the airport authorities. The luggage scanner machines are capable of examining every layer with double cameras. In addition to cameras and scanners, a sound capture system is also integrated.
Dual-view X-ray baggage scanning machines, costing crores of rupees, have been installed at Prayagraj Airport. Contraband inside bags, briefcases, satchels, purses, containers, bottles, cartons, etc. can be identified within seconds. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is consistently enhancing the high-tech security measures at the airport.
Flights from this airport are operational in cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Dehradun, Bilaspur, etc. There is a plan to operate flights to 25 cities from here before Mahakumbh. The expansion of the airport has already begun, and the passenger seating capacity of the new terminal building is being doubled.
Following the expansion of Prayagraj Airport, the parking area will become so extensive that 500 vehicles can be parked simultaneously. There are also plans to construct a separate taxi subway.
