On Tuesday, Jan Suraj campaign chief Prashant Kishor claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s influence has significantly impacted the BJP, forcing it to make organizational changes.
Speaking to the media in Patna, Kishor stated that the BJP’s apprehension towards Nitish Kumar has led to strategic shifts within the party.
Kishor remarked, “The fear of Nitish Kumar within the BJP is evident. He first orchestrated the removal of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s turban and subsequently influenced the central BJP leadership to make organizational changes in Bihar according to his preferences.”
He commented on the BJP’s recent leadership change in Bihar, appointing Dilip Jaiswal as state president, succeeding Samrat Chaudhary.
Kishor criticized Nitish Kumar for prioritizing personal gains over Bihar’s development.
“Nitish Kumar demanded a ministry from the BJP and secured the Chief Minister’s chair for five years. He influenced changes within the Bihar BJP organization as he desired,” he aserted. “However, he did not push the Prime Minister to reopen the closed sugar mills in Bihar. Instead, he ensured the removal of Samrat Chaudhary’s turban.”
Kishor continued, “Nitish Kumar should have demanded that we support you only if factories are established in every district of Bihar. But he failed to do so.”
Prashant Kishor Criticizes Nitish Kumar’s Long-Term Alliance With BJP
Addressing the issue of Bihar’s special status, Kishor criticized Nitish Kumar’s long-term alliance with the BJP.
“Nitish Kumar has been with the BJP for 15 years, and the BJP has been in power at the Centre for the last 10 years. This isn’t the first chance for Nitish Kumar and the BJP to improve Bihar. The current situation indicates that the BJP government at the Centre is struggling without the support of Bihar MPs. Now, discussions about special status have emerged, but I have informed 10,000 youths that Nitish Kumar is only concerned about himself,” he further stated.
The comments from Kishor highlight the complex dynamics between Nitish Kumar and the BJP, emphasizing his significant influence on the party’s organizational decisions in Bihar while questioning his commitment to the state’s development.
