On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed hope that the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi will lead to constructive discussions focused on global welfare.
Taking to X, PM Modi said leaders from different parts of the world would come together over the next few days for the high-level gathering.
PM Modi accompanied his message with a Sanskrit verse emphasising the value of good company, dialogue and friendly relations.
The verse conveys that meaningful engagement and mutual goodwill among virtuous people can help strengthen peace and cooperation.

India is hosting the summit as the BRICS chair for 2026. The event, scheduled for September 12 and 13, will bring together leaders from BRICS member and partner countries, along with outreach invitees.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said the discussions will focus on improving cooperation within the grouping. They will cover regional and global matters of shared interest.
Preparations at Bharat Mandapam, the summit venue, were nearing completion on Thursday.
The official BRICS Summit account on X shared updates showing New Delhi preparing for the international meeting. It described the capital as a place where the world would soon gather around one table.
