Fake Marriage

Two individuals were arrested on Monday for their involvement in a racket producing fake marriage certificates in the name of Arya Samaj. The operation ran for years from a photocopy shop located near the Hanuman Temple close to the High Court. Police recovered three formats of fake marriage certificates, three computers, two printers, and other equipment during the raid.

Investigation Launched After Couples Seek Protection

DCP Nagar Abhishek Bharti revealed that five couples, including Shivani and Shrikant Yadav, recently filed a petition in the High Court claiming they had undergone love marriages. They submitted a marriage certificate purportedly issued by Arya Samaj Mandir. Upon investigation, the certificates were found to be fake, prompting a case to be registered at the Cantt police station. In total, seven cases have been registered at the Cantt police station, with additional cases filed in Kaundhiara and Handia police stations.

How the Fake Marriage Certificates Were Created

The gang operated by downloading templates for fake marriage certificates onto their computers. They would fill in the names, addresses, and other details of clients, then affix fake seals to the documents. During the raid, police discovered formats for fake certificates from Arya Samaj locations in Krishna Nagar Prayagraj and Firozabad. Investigators believe the gang may also have issued fake certificates under other organizations, which remains under investigation.
