House Collapse In Jaithra Buries Six, Two Dead

A house collapse late Thursday night in the Jaithra police station area trapped six family members under debris. Emergency responders, including police and local administration teams, rushed to the scene and rescued the victims, who were then transported to the hospital. Doctors pronounced a grandmother, Heshayari Devi, and her granddaughter, Anshika, dead upon arrival. The remaining three injured family members were referred to a medical college for further treatment.

SSP Shyam Narayan Singh reported that Ramgopal, who lives with his elderly mother and family in the village of Kookpura, experienced the roof collapse of their old house. The collapse occurred due to the house’s age and recent heavy rainfall, which had weakened the structure.

The police, assisted by local villagers, carried out a rescue operation as soon as they received the news. They extricated the six trapped individuals and transported them to the hospital. Sadly, Heshayari Devi and Anshika were declared dead, while the other three, in critical condition, were sent to the medical college for advanced treatment. Authorities have begun post-mortem examinations for the deceased.

SSP Singh speculated that the heavy rainfall from the previous day might have contributed to the roof collapse. District Magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh visited the site to oversee the situation, check on the injured, and ensure they receive proper medical care. He also promised to provide all possible assistance to the affected family.
