PM Urges Caution: Speech paused as concerns rise over tower climbing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a poll rally in Telangana’s Nirmal, interrupted his speech to address safety concerns, urging people atop towers to descend. This incident echoes a similar occurrence in Hyderabad weeks earlier, where he asked a woman to descend from a tower-like structure. In Hindi, he appealed for their safety amidst the crowded conditions, expressing his concern for potential accidents. Despite the apology for the disruption, Modi assured the audience that his heartfelt message would reach them.
During the rally, he acknowledged a little girl waving the Tricolour, commending her as Bharat Mata. This follows an earlier incident on November 11 in Hyderabad, where Modi intervened as a young woman attempted to communicate with him from a makeshift tower. He emphasized the potential risk, urging her to come down and highlighting the risk of short-circuiting.

Modi, in a pointed critique of the KCR-led government, branded it an adversary of the poor during a Sunday address. He accused the government of residing in a farmhouse and neglecting to provide housing for the underprivileged. Promising swift action, he declared that, under a BJP government in Telangana, houses would promptly be allocated to the poor, emphasizing this commitment as “Modi’s guarantee” during the Nirmal rally.
