On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely lead a major roadshow in Kanyakumari district, as the Bharatiya Janata Party steps up its outreach ahead of the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The Prime Minister will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram by a special aircraft and then travel to Nagercoil by helicopter. He is likely to land at the Armed Forces Ground before heading to Vepamoodu Junction, where the roadshow will begin at around 4:30 PM.

The procession will cover a one-kilometre route from Vepamoodu Junction to the MGR statue at Vadasery.

PM Modi will travel in an open vehicle, greeting people along the way and seeking support for candidates of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance across Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts.

Several senior leaders are likely to accompany the Prime Minister during the event, including Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran, former state unit chief K Annamalai, former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan, and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, along with other alliance representatives.

Preparations have been stepped up for the visit, with barricades installed along the route to manage crowds and ensure public safety during the roadshow.

Party workers from across Kanyakumari district, as well as neighbouring areas such as Thoothukudi and Tenkasi, are likely to turn out in large numbers.

Following the event, the Prime Minister will return to the Armed Forces Ground and depart via Thiruvananthapuram for New Delhi.
