Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi by paying heartfelt tribute to the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, PM Modi visited the National War Memorial to honor the country’s heroes.
Leading the solemn ceremony, PM Modi laid a wreath at the memorial as the nation remembered its fallen soldiers.
Commander Amit Rathi, leading the Inter-Services guard comprising 21 inner guards & six buglers, gave the commands for Salami Shastra and Shok Shastra, setting the tone for the reverent proceedings.
The poignant notes of the ‘Last Post’ echoed as officers saluted in respect, followed by a two-minute silence to honor the departed soldiers.
The buglers then sounded the ‘Rouse,’ traditionally marking the end of the remembrance.
The ceremony however concluded with the Guard Commander ordering the final Salami Shastra.
Republic Day Parade Highlights
PM Narendra Modi and other dignitaries will further move to the saluting dais to continue the Republic Day celebrations.
- National Flag & 21-Gun Salute: The National Flag will be unfurled, accompanied by the National Anthem and a 21-gun salute using indigenous 105-mm Light Field Guns.
- Chief Guest: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the Chief Guest for this year’s celebrations.
- Tableaux: A total of 16 state and Union Territory tableaux, along with 10 from Central ministries and departments, will showcase ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’.
- Aerial Display: Mi-17 1V helicopters from 129 Helicopter Unit will shower petals in the Dhwaj Formation, led by Group Captain Alok Ahlawat.
- Indonesian Contingent: A marching contingent of 152 members from Indonesia’s Military Academy and 190 military band members will participate in the parade.
Culmination Of The Ceremony
The grand celebration will however conclude with the National Anthem and the release of balloons carrying banners showcasing 75 years of India’s Constitution in effect.
This tribute to the nation’s heritage and progress will reflect unity, pride, and a commitment to development.
