PM Narendra Modi is currently on a two-day visit to Poland, marking the first visit by an Indian leader to the Central European country in 45 years.
During his stay, PM Modi will engage in high-level talks with Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and President Andrzej Duda.
These meetings are likely to bolster bilateral relations, focusing on political, economic, and cultural exchanges.
On Thursday, PM Modi’s itinerary includes a crucial meeting with Polish business leaders, aimed at enhancing trade and investment ties between the two nations.
He will also engage with Indologists and kabaddi players, reflecting the growing cultural and people-to-people connections between India and Poland.
“This visit underscores the deepening bonds between our nations, driven by shared interests and cultural ties,” noted Randhir Jaiswal, Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
PM Modi began his visit on Wednesday by paying respects at significant memorials in Warsaw, including The Dobry Maharaja Memorial and the Monument to the Battle of Monte Cassino.
He also addressed the Indian diaspora in the Polish capital, reinforcing the importance of the Indian community in strengthening bilateral relations.
PM Modi Poised For Historic Visit To Ukraine After Poland Trip
After his visit to Poland, Prime Minister Modi is likely to make a historic trip to Ukraine, marking the first time an Indian Prime Minister will visit the country since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992.
The visit comes at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and is seen as a pivotal moment in India-Ukraine relations.
“From Poland, I will be visiting Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine. I look forward to the opportunity to build upon earlier conversations with President Zelenskyy on strengthening bilateral cooperation and share perspectives on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine conflict. As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability in the region,” Prime Minister Modi said in a statement released by the MEA before his departure on Wednesday.
While in Kyiv, the Prime Minister will engage in discussions covering a wide array of topics, including political and economic cooperation, trade, investments, education, and cultural exchanges.
He is also likely to interact with the Indian community in Ukraine, including students, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
