The Greater Chennai Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions for commercial and heavy vehicles at key junctions across Chennai until 04:30 PM on Sunday ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.

The restrictions aim to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety.

Authorities have urged motorists and transport operators to follow alternative routes and comply with instructions from traffic personnel.

Vehicles travelling from Tambaram will take a diversion at Tiruneermalai Junction towards Kundrathur Road. Those travelling from Pallavaram towards Tambaram will face diversions at International Airport Junction.

On Jawaharlal Nehru 100 Feet Road, commercial and heavy vehicles will be diverted at Ashok Nagar Second Avenue towards Koyambedu or KK Nagar.

At CIPET Junction near Ashok Pillar, police will redirect vehicles towards Guindy Industrial Estate.

On Mount Poonamallee Road, vehicles will, however, be diverted at Porur Toll Plaza towards Maduravoyal. At Ramapuram Junction, motorists will be directed towards Arasamaram Junction.

Vehicles approaching from Old Mahabalipuram Road, Sardar Patel Road and Gandhimandapam Salai will be diverted at Gandhimandapam Junction towards CPT.

Commercial and heavy vehicles travelling along Velachery Main Road towards Sardar Patel Road will be redirected at Guru Nanak Junction towards Velachery.

On Anna Salai, traffic personnel will divert vehicles at the MC Raja U-turn and guide motorists along alternative routes.

The traffic police have advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance to minimise delays during the restrictions.

Motorists and transport operators have, however, been urged to cooperate with officials and follow the prescribed routes.
