On Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a message of progress, unity, and inclusivity as he addressed the nation.
He acknowledged India’s remarkable strides forward while underscoring the need for unity, compassion, and equality in the country’s ongoing journey.
“India is on the right path, but our progress must be accompanied by affection and fairness,” the Prime Minister emphasized during his speech, reflecting on the nation’s challenges and triumphs.
Looking back at the hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, PM Modi highlighted India’s resilience and economic recovery.
“When I think of the COVID era, I am proud that India emerged as the fastest-growing economy, proving that we are indeed moving in the right direction,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister also celebrated the widespread display of the national flag across the country.
PM Modi stated that the Tiranga now adorns every home, transcending religion, caste, and creed, reinforcing the belief that the nation is on the right track.
PM Modi praised the government’s efforts to reduce poverty, noting, “When we lift 250 million people out of poverty, it confirms that our progress is steady, and we are well on our way to realizing our aspirations.”
Empathy in governance was a key theme in the Prime Minister’s address, particularly in supporting the most vulnerable populations.
“When our Adivasi communities benefit from the PM Jan Man Yojana, it demonstrates that governance with empathy brings true satisfaction,” PM Modi asserted.
PM Modi Highlights Initiatives Empowering Women, Specially-Abled, & Transgender People
He also highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering women, the specially-abled, and the transgender community.
“By extending paid maternity leave from 12 to 26 weeks, we ensure that working women can raise their newborns without compromising their careers,” PM Modi explained, emphasizing the importance of supporting women in the workforce.
The Prime Minister noted the significance of sign language recognition, stating, “When specially-abled Indians feel dignified and respected, it shows that our compassion is empowering them.”
Addressing the transgender community, PM Modi affirmed, “New laws and reforms for transgenders are being implemented to ensure they receive the respect they deserve, reflecting the positive changes taking place in India.”
Through his address, PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive and compassionate governance, fostering a united and progressive India.
