Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkal Diwas through a detailed letter addressed to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage, spiritual legacy, and ongoing developmental progress.
In his message, the Prime Minister lauded Odisha’s iconic temples, vibrant artistic traditions, and the enduring contributions of its people across diverse fields. He emphasised that the state’s cultural depth and civilisational richness continue to strengthen India’s identity.
PM Modi also underlined the Centre’s sustained commitment to boosting infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and supporting economic growth in Odisha through targeted initiatives and investments.
Following the letter, Chief Minister Majhi responded on the social media platform X, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for his thoughtful message. He stated that the recognition of Odisha’s glorious heritage and achievements had deeply resonated with the people of the state, reinforcing their sense of pride and belonging.
The Chief Minister further acknowledged the Centre’s role in accelerating Odisha’s development, particularly highlighting progress in sectors such as railways, port-led development, and women empowerment initiatives. He noted that schemes aimed at strengthening livelihoods and uplifting communities continue to play a vital role in the state’s growth trajectory.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment, Majhi emphasised the importance of preserving Odia identity, language, and cultural traditions while simultaneously advancing towards modern development goals. He reiterated the vision of building a ‘Viksit Odisha’ that actively contributes to the broader national goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
