PM Modi Vows Constitutional Action Against Illegal Infiltrators In West Bengal

PM Modi, addressing a rally in West Bengal, vowed to act against illegal infiltrators under Constitutional law, countering TMC’s accusations.

PM Modi Vows Constitutional Action Against Illegal Infiltrators In West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a political rally organised by the BJP’s West Bengal unit in Durgapur, West Burdwan, where he sharply criticised the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) for allegedly enabling and protecting illegal infiltrators in the state.

He assured the public that the Centre would act against such infiltrators strictly in line with Constitutional provisions.

PM Modi claimed that West Bengal has become a hub for illegal infiltration due to the policies and political motivations of the TMC government.

He accused the state administration of creating an ecosystem that not only facilitates infiltration but also legitimises it through fake Indian identity documents.

According to him, these infiltrators pose a threat to both national security and the cultural identity of the Bengali people.

“The entire ecosystem in West Bengal is encouraging illegal infiltration,” PM Modi stated. “These infiltrators are being issued fake documents and are even getting political protection. Trinamool Congress has risked the honour of the state for its narrow political motives.”

Constitutional Measures Ahead

The Prime Minister made it clear that the government will protect only Indian citizens under the law and will deal with illegal infiltrators according to Constitutional guidelines. He also accused the TMC of defying the Constitution and undermining statutory bodies to shield such elements.

“But let me be clear,” PM Modi declared, “those who are not Indian citizens, those who are illegal infiltrators will face action as per Constitutional provisions.”

In a broader defence of the BJP’s policies, PM Modi said that Bengalis receive respect in BJP-ruled states. He noted that the BJP had honoured the Bengali language by granting it classical language status and had consistently recognised its cultural heritage.

“The roots of the BJP lie in West Bengal,” PM Modi said. “We have always held the Bengali identity in high esteem. Bengali is not just a language, it’s a legacy.”

Observers interpret PM Modi’s remarks as directly countering TMC’s recent claims that BJP-ruled states have unfairly targeted Bengali-speaking individuals as illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.
His speech sought to reassure genuine Indian citizens in Bengal while sending a firm message on national security.

PM Modi’s statement reinforces the BJP’s campaign narrative in West Bengal, framing the issue of infiltration as both a security concern and a matter of cultural preservation. With the state heading toward critical electoral phases, the infiltration debate is likely to remain a focal point.
