
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat on 25 and 26 August, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than ₹5,400 crore.
The initiatives span across infrastructure, transport, energy, and urban development, reinforcing the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’.
On August 25, PM Modi will address a public function at Khodaldham Ground in Ahmedabad after dedicating multiple development projects aimed at modernising Gujarat’s infrastructure and service delivery.
The Prime Minister will travel to Hansalpur the following day to inaugurate Suzuki’s first global strategic Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA, and export it to over 100 countries, including Japan and European nations.
In a significant step towards clean energy, he will also inaugurate the localised production of hybrid battery electrodes at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Plant, a joint venture of Toshiba, Denso, and Suzuki. With over 80 per cent of the battery value now to be manufactured domestically, this marks a milestone in India’s green energy ecosystem.
Key Railway and Road Projects
Among projects worth more than ₹1,400 crore, the Prime Minister will dedicate the doubling of the Mahesana–Palanpur rail line, complete with gauge conversions and the flagging off of passenger and freight trains. These initiatives aim to improve logistics and strengthen industrial connectivity.
Road infrastructure upgrades will include the widening of the Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura road, alongside new vehicle underpasses and railway overbridges designed to ease congestion and enhance productivity.
To strengthen the electricity supply, PM Modi will inaugurate projects worth over ₹1,000 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, and Gandhinagar.
Urban development initiatives include in-situ slum rehabilitation under PMAY (U), widening of the Sardar Patel Ring Road, and modern sewerage and water management systems.
Additionally, he will inaugurate a new Stamps and Registration building in Ahmedabad and a State-Level Data Storage Centre in Gandhinagar to bolster digital governance.
