Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh on March 28 to inaugurate Phase I of the Noida International Airport, a major infrastructure project developed at an estimated cost of Rs 11,200 crore.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will reach Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar, undertake a walkthrough of the terminal building, and formally inaugurate the airport. He will also address a public gathering on the occasion.
The inauguration marks a significant step in India’s ambition to emerge as a global aviation hub.
The government envisions the airport as a key international gateway for the National Capital Region and expects it to enhance both domestic and international connectivity while strengthening aviation infrastructure.
Developed as the second international airport serving the Delhi-NCR region alongside Indira Gandhi International Airport, the facility aims to ease congestion, expand passenger capacity, and support the region’s growing air traffic demand.
Noida International Airport stands among India’s largest greenfield airport projects. Phase I, developed under a Public–Private Partnership model, will initially handle 12 million passengers annually, with the capacity to scale up to 70 million upon full development.
The airport features a 3,900-metre runway capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft, along with advanced navigation systems, including an Instrument Landing System and modern airfield lighting for all-weather operations.
The airport includes an integrated cargo hub with dedicated logistics zones and a 40-acre Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility to boost operations.
Designed as a sustainable, future-ready project, it aims to operate as a net-zero emissions facility using energy-efficient systems.
Its architecture draws inspiration from traditional ghats and havelis, while its location along the Yamuna Expressway enables seamless multi-modal connectivity across road, rail, metro, and regional networks.
