PM Modi To Inaugurate Armed Forces Commanders’ Meet In Kolkata; Emphasises Modernisation & Reform

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) 2025 in Kolkata on 15 September, with the focus firmly on modernising India’s Armed Forces and deepening integration among the three services.

The conference, a premier strategic forum, will run from 15 to 17 September and is expected to shape the defence roadmap for years to come.

Theme: ‘Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future’

This year’s theme, ‘Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future’, reflects a strong push towards institutional reform, enhanced operational preparedness, and the adoption of next-generation defence technologies.

The conference will address the challenges of an increasingly complex geo-strategic environment, where agility, adaptability, and innovation are crucial for national security.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, PM Modi will spearhead discussions on:

  • Deeper integration of the three services
  • Technological modernisation and indigenisation
  • Reforms in command structure and logistics
  • Multi-domain operational preparedness

These deliberations are intended to bolster India’s defence capabilities and support the development of a future-ready military force.

Top Leadership to Participate

The conference will bring together India’s top civil and military leadership. In addition to Prime Minister Modi, attendees will include:

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
  • National Security Advisor Ajit Doval
  • Minister of State for Defence
  • Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)
  • Defence Secretary

Senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with key officials from the Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) and other ministries, will also join the conference.

In line with the tradition of inclusive engagement, CCC 2025 will feature interactive sessions involving officers and personnel from various ranks.

This approach ensures that operational insights from the field contribute meaningfully to strategic-level discussions.

Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised PM Modi for the success of Operation Sindoor, highlighting it as a testament to India’s defence strength, scientific innovation, and youth-led technological development.

He further emphasised the Armed Forces’ swift adoption of indigenous equipment developed by Indian industries and young innovators, underlining the government’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector.

The Combined Commanders’ Conference serves as a vital forum for shaping India’s defence policy, operational priorities, and future strategy.

PM Modi will lead CCC 2025 to advance a clear vision for a modern, integrated, and self-reliant military force.
