Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over their alliance for the Lok Sabha polls. He likened their partnership to a failed movie sequel, referencing their unsuccessful collaboration in the 2017 state assembly elections. Addressing a rally, Modi criticized the opposition’s intentions, suggesting they aim not to win but to limit the BJP’s seats below 370 and the NDA’s below 400.
Modi highlighted the struggles of the Congress party in finding candidates even in their strongholds, with instances where nominees failed to file nominations. He depicted the Samajwadi Party’s situation as dire, necessitating frequent candidate changes. He likened their alliance to a re-release of a previously unsuccessful film, alluding to their joint roadshow in Agra earlier in the year, reminiscent of their “UP ke ladke” campaign from 2017.
On the occasion of BJP’s foundation day, Modi expressed pride in the party’s achievements, emphasizing its rapid growth and the trust it has garnered from the people. He underscored the BJP’s commitment to national interests, contrasting it with the alleged self-serving motives of the opposition.
Modi hailed his government’s transformative actions, including the abrogation of Article 370 and the passage of the triple talaq bill. He highlighted the government’s efforts towards inclusive development, citing the mantra of ‘saturation’ to ensure benefits reach every citizen. Modi stressed that the BJP government operates without discrimination and is committed to combating corruption.
Modi concluded by reiterating his promise to uplift the nation and turn despair into hope, expressing gratitude for the support of the people. With Saharanpur and seven other seats in Uttar Pradesh heading to the polls in the first phase, Modi emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections. He rallied support for the BJP, pledging to continue the government’s mission-oriented approach for the welfare of the nation.
