Taiwan on Saturday said that it detected 7 Chinese naval vessels and 1 military aircraft operating around Taiwan. It was between 6 am on Friday to 6 am on Saturday.
According to the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence, Chinese aircraft entered Taiwan’s eastern Air Defence Identification Zone.
In response, Taiwan deployed aircraft, naval ships, and air defence missile systems to monitor China’s activity.
Taking to X, Taiwan Ministry of National Defence stated, “1 PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. The aircraft entered Taiwan’s eastern ADIZ. #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.”
Earlier on Friday, Taiwan detected 8 Chinese naval vessels operating around the nation. It was between 6 am on Thursday (4 April) to 6 am on Friday (5 April).
Taking to X, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defence stated, “8 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today.”
Taiwanese armed forces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces.
As per reports, Taiwan Air Force Command in March announced that it carried out an integrated air defence exercise to enhance the overall effectiveness of defence operations.
The Command said it would continue to enhance training intensity considering the frequent intrusions by Chinese military aircraft and vessels.
It further stated that these efforts are made to fulfil regional security and defence operation needs, safeguard airspace and protect the homeland.
