Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at an Indian community event in Moscow, outlined ambitious plans for India’s development during his third term in office, aiming to elevate the nation to the ranks of the world’s third-largest economy.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi highlighted the significance of the number three in his government’s objectives for the upcoming term.
“In the third term, my government aims to make India the third-largest economy globally,” he declared, emphasizing a multi-faceted agenda that includes the construction of three crore houses for the underprivileged and empowering three crore ‘Lakhpati didis’.
Explaining the concept of ‘Lakhpati didis’, PM Modi elaborated, “These are women self-help groups in villages across the country. We aim to empower and skill three crore women to become economically self-sufficient.”
Acknowledging the scale of these ambitions, PM Modi expressed confidence in achieving these goals with the support and blessings of the people.
“It is a lofty aim, but with the continued support of people like you, I am optimistic that we will accomplish these objectives smoothly,” he affirmed.
PM Modi’s visit to Moscow comes at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, where he is likely to participate in the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
