Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Union Budget 2026–27 provides a comprehensive roadmap for a ‘Viksit Bharat’, driven by technology, reforms and finance, and urged stakeholders to ensure that these reforms reach the grassroots level.

Addressing a post-Budget webinar, the Prime Minister encouraged participants to convert reform initiatives into tangible outcomes. He proposed creating a joint charter involving the government, industry, financial institutions and academia to achieve the vision of a developed India by 2047.

“The Union Budget 2026–27 ensures ease of doing business, simplifies processes and calls for technology-led governance. This is the time to ride the Reform Express with a focus on excellence in policy delivery,” he said during the virtual address.

PM Modi emphasised the use of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and data analytics to enhance transparency, speed and accountability. He also underlined the importance of robust grievance redressal monitoring systems to improve governance outcomes.

Highlighting the Centre’s sustained push on infrastructure, the Prime Minister noted that government capital expenditure (capex) has reached record levels over the past decade.

“Eleven years ago, government capex stood at just ₹2 lakh crore. Today, it has crossed ₹12 lakh crore. At this scale, government spending sends a strong message to the private sector. Industry and financial institutions must step forward with renewed energy,” he said.

The webinar, the first in a post-Budget series, aims to ensure effective implementation of the Union Budget 2026–27 and advance the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
