Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Odisha on a two-day official visit beginning March 5, according to an official statement issued on Friday.
A high-level preparatory meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, reviewed arrangements for the Minister’s visit.
Senior officials discussed security, logistics, traffic management and venue preparations to ensure smooth conduct of the programmes.
Official sources stated that Shah will reach Odisha on the evening of March 5 aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft from New Delhi.
On March 6, he will attend the Foundation Day programme of the Central Industrial Security Force at Mundali in Cuttack district.
In view of his participation, authorities have directed officials to undertake black-topping of roads from Godisahi to Mundali, along with improvements in street lighting, sanitation, cleanliness and beautification.
Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister will visit Jatni in Khurda district to lay the foundation stone for the Bhubaneswar campuses of the National Forensic Sciences University and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL).
He will also virtually inaugurate the National Forensic Sciences University Transit Campus in Bhubaneswar.
These initiatives aim to strengthen forensic infrastructure and enhance investigative capabilities in the region.
Amit Shah will inaugurate the ‘Naveen Nyaya Sanhita’ exhibition at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar and launch several projects linked to the Cooperation and other state departments.
Officials reviewed his itinerary, security and logistics, with Chief Secretary Anu Garg directing departments to ensure timely coordination.
Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma briefed the meeting on preparations. The visit highlights the Centre’s push to strengthen security and forensic infrastructure in Odisha.
