Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the PRAGATI meeting on Wednesday, where infrastructure projects worth over Rs 62,000 crore across various sectors were reviewed.
The meeting, part of the ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, involved collaboration between the Centre and state governments to accelerate project execution.
In a social media post on Thursday, PM Modi shared that discussions covered diverse sectors including roads, power, water resources, and semiconductors.
He emphasised the critical need for completing all infrastructure projects on time to ensure efficient delivery of services and infrastructure to citizens.
The Prime Minister reviewed three major infrastructure projects spanning Road Transport, Power, and Water Resources with a combined cost exceeding Rs 62,000 crore.
These projects, which are spread across various states and Union Territories, underscore their strategic importance.
Consequently, PM Modi highlighted the need for all stakeholders to remove implementation bottlenecks and prioritise timely completion.
The government statement noted that delays not only increase costs but also deny citizens access to essential infrastructure and services.
PM Modi called for enhanced accountability and efficiency from all parties involved to maximise the socio-economic benefits of these projects.
Alongside infrastructure projects, the meeting also addressed public grievances related to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of improving the speed and quality of grievance resolution to deliver justice and fairness for homebuyers.
Furthermore, PM Modi urged state governments to ensure the mandatory registration of all eligible real estate projects under the RERA Act.
He reiterated that strict adherence to RERA provisions is essential to restoring trust and transparency in the housing market.
The Prime Minister reviewed best practices in the development of India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem, highlighting how these initiatives serve as successful models for replication across states and union territories.
These efforts align with the government’s National Semiconductor Mission, aiming to bolster India’s position in the global semiconductor industry.
Since its inception, the government has noted that PRAGATI meetings have reviewed 373 projects with a total estimated cost of approximately Rs 20.64 lakh crore.
This, in turn, reflects the platform’s vital role in proactive governance and the timely implementation of critical projects.
PM Modi’s insistence on timely completion and addressing grievances signals the government’s priority on infrastructure growth and citizen welfare, laying the groundwork for sustained economic development across India.
