PM Modi acknowledged the state government’s relief and rescue operations and praised Naidu for managing the situation through constant monitoring and vigilance.

Earlier, Naidu wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking immediate financial assistance to address the damage to crops and public infrastructure. He outlined the hardships faced by residents and the relief measures undertaken by the state government.

Shah spoke to Naidu on Tuesday to review Cyclone Murasu’s impact and the ongoing response.

The State Disaster Management Authority and emergency centres went on high alert ahead of the cyclone.

Authorities kept 11 SDRF and 13 NDRF teams ready for relief operations. They converted 480 schools in affected districts into relief centres and evacuated 12,230 people to safer locations.
